Horace Goes Faster

Hello there, it's Horace here with an apology for forgetting to show you our make for this fortnight's challenge over at Musically Challenged.

This week we're using George Harrison's Faster for inspiration, and playing with fab images from Kenny K.

The video is inspired by Jackie Stewart and Nikki Lauder, and is based around the sport of Formula One Grand Prix racing. Watching the video made me think of speed and excitement, and also, along with the speed, danger. With that in mind, I put on my racing jacket and began to create.

With this wonderful image, Heidi Hot Rod, isn't she fab?

The bears have a chequered effect stencil, perfect for this challenge.

I began dabbing some ink through the stencil, then realised the lid was still on! Duh!

Once I'd worked that out, I managed some ink on my project!

I also found a go faster kind of stencil, perfect yet again.

I mixed some paint and texture paste.

Then added my coloured paste through the zigzaggy stencil, to my postcard.

I made the zigzags red for danger, as motor sport is, with all the speed involved. Also red and zigzags implied the speed at which the cars travel. Hmm, it needed more red, so I used the pizza spray booth to spritz some Dylusions Post Box Red mist directly onto the postcard.

I coloured the image and added the song title.

And here's a close up, this challenge was great fun, as I could let my inner speed freak free!

Why don't you pop along to Musically Challenged and join in. You, still have a couple of days to play, and the chance of winning a prize too.

With love from the bears

  1. Brilliant, Horace - the chequered flag stencil and the go faster stripes are the perfect background, and the dramatic red and black are just right for sassy Heidi HotRod.
Great crafting outfit too, though I do hope you didn't get your leathers in an inky mess...
