WOYWW - an organised mess

Good Wednesday morning to all WOYWWers, yet another wednesday arrives and with it a chance to peek at desks of crafters worldwide courtesy of Julia's blog.

This week on the bears' desk is an organised mess. Most of what's on the desk is concerned with art journalling, but to the left is a lovely pile of goodies, some of which are our long awaited (3 months) subscription gift from Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine. They're on the desk awaiting playtime, when we shall carry on with our Olympics inspired page.

Anyway, the art journals. We decided we didn't like our original art journal cover, so on went the Gesso

Followed by some glimmer mists, which Horace had fun spraying.

He then stood the covers on end for a dripped effect. We wondered what on earth he had done at this stage, as we really weren't sure if we liked it or not (don't tell Horace, he's very precious about his artwork).

Eventually, after much misting, adding embellishments and a title, he came up with this, which we did like, and it matches what's inside better than the original covers.

We wanted two journals, one for more arty type experiments, and one for feelings and thoughts that bears may have. Horace obliged by making this.

Happy desk hopping, oh, and if you have some spare time, maybe you'd like to join in our just for fun challenge By pressing your furry paw here

TTFN (time to find nosh).

With love from the bears.

  1. I think all true artists can be a little touchy about their work - particularly in the creative stages, so I'm glad you gave Horace the time and space to come about, and come up with those two gorgeously contrasting journal covers. (Hate to say it, but I think you may have last week's link over at Julia's, bears, though it's simple enough to get to this one, of course...)

    1. We blame Horace, he was tetchy all night after catching Wilbear glancing oddly at his artwork!

  2. Horace, you did good! I like that drippy effect too, Horace.

  3. Thanks for popping by Bears. I wish I had caught you I would have prepared honey on toast! Mind you I wouldn't want you to get your lovely journals sticky! WOYWW Hugs to you from Helen 15

  4. I hope he didn't get his paws painty..... Mind you with all that spritzing and spraying, he should of. He is one really clever bear, be careful now don't let him know I said that, it might go to his head. Seriously now amazing cover, I think you nailed it this time. I love the colours.

    Thanks for sharing

  11. It's nice to have different journals for different purposes and makes tons of sense to redo a cover (which you'll be looking at for ages and having it drive you nuts if you don't change it.) Thanks, bears, for tromping over to my place for a friendly visit already today. Happy Wednesday to all. ~ Laura #118

  12. Well the bears have definitely been busy. Love the journals - great you could alter one to make it more what was needed. What is equally impressive is your pizza spray booth. Gonna have to order one for this purpose :) woohoo! Hugs, Buttons #81

  17. Good for Horace, huh! and good for you lot for knowing when NOT to question him!! The covers are fab.

  18. Ah those bears have great personalities and Horace should be proud of his work, it's lovely. Remember, no-one liked VanGogh's work, it takes bear faced courage to be different! Hope you get to enjoy the new goodies, or are they for the bears to have a play with?
