WOYWW - Not Much Actually

Good morning, Horace the blog hogger here again to welcome you to another Wednesday in Blogland. We do love Wednesdays here at The House of Bears. Why? Because we get to have a sneaky peek at crafty desks worldwide, courtesy of our host, Julia, at Stamping Ground If you want to know more, click your furry paw on the link to her fab blog, but beware, it's ever so slightly addictive.
So, onto the bears' desk....
This week there's not an awful lot going on at the desk. Cedric has been busy decorating the lounge for us ( he's still trying to persuade us to let him stay). Podgy and Pooh seem to be suffering from autumn apathy and are semi hibernating in the bears' bed, and Wilbear has been busy playing with a new kitchen gadget, which I'll leave him to explain in a blog post of his own some time.
So, that leaves the desk free for yours truly. I decided to take a trip to our local Paper craft shop, Papermaze, to choose some supplies for my holiday photos. I'm planning a scrapbook page of my visit to the Tram Museum, at Crich, so I carefully selected some co ordinating patterned paper to complement my photo, some adhesive tape refill, and a Scrap 365 magazine for inspiration.

This is my tram pic, This was one of the trams in operation on the day I visited, and I enjoyed a trip up and down the village on it. We were given an old penny with which to purchase our tram ticket, what fun.

I bought the patterned paper below as the Museum had lots of vintage ads around the site. I thought I could utilise it on my page somehow.

Now, a quick look at my Scrap365 mag and I'll be ready to create my page, after a visit to a few crafty desks that is.

Oh, and if you like challenges, don't forget, we have our own, just for fun, literary based monthly challenges. there's plenty of time to enter this month's Dracula inspired challenge

With love from the bears.

  6. Would love to see how you put together your tram scrap page Horace. Haven't been there for a year or so - last time there was a 40's themed day on and even though it rained a lot everyone was so cheerful. Happy WOYWWW, hugs Buttons #119

  22. Love the post! First time I've visited you, I am sure I'd have remembered the bears. I'm pretty sure they'd be very interested in a post a did a few days ago about our trip to France- Buddy Bears at the Eiffel tower- its just a couple down from the WOYWW post.Love that vintage paper, btw, gotta look out for that one.Have a great week, Hugs Shaz #96

  23. Happy belated WOYWW to all the bears - even the sleepy ones. I have always wanted to visit that Tram Museum - love anything vintage and transport related (must be my Dad's fault - he took me to steam railways etc throughout my childhood). Fab paper - lots of uses for that. I have only recently discovered Scrap 365 magazine - very interesting for a completely scrapbooking beginner like me. Off to see what your challenges are about and become a follower - need my fix of furry crafting regularly! Ali x #87

  24. Plans for the page look good, Horace - love that vintage advertisement paper! I've every sympathy with Pooh and Podgy just at the moment - a warm bed and a hot water bottle seem like a good plan! Belated happy WOYWW (am so behind with blog visiting, but taking the chance to do a bit of catching up is fun)...

  26. Thanks for visiting me and for the kind words of encouragement. We enjoyed the tram museum when we visited a couple of years ago now. You are definitely much more organised than me as I have yet to scrapbook that particular outing! The vintage paper will work well - what a great find. Belated WOYWW Hugs from Helen 77

  27. Sorry to be so late getting round again. I had a very busy end to the week and am only just catching up with myself.

Love the papers you are using for your LO Horace. Seeing those old ads has reminded me of my very first typewriter. It was a big Black one just like those on the paper and it had once belonged to an author who took it around the world on his travels with him….don’t know how because it weighed a ton.

Thanks for stopping by this week.

    Happy Crafting!
