WOYWW- Pooh challenges himself

Hello there, Pooh here

What day is it? Wednesday? Again? I guess that means it's time for another peek at the desks of crafters worldwide, courtesy of our host, Julia at Stamping ground.

As WOYWW stands for What's on your Workspace Wednesday, I should start by showing you what's on the bears' workdesk this week shouldn't I? This is my mid-craft mess.

I was searching for crafty inspiration on the Internet, and chose two challenges, but as I was unwell, the deadline for one passed before I could finish my project. Still, I decided to carry on crafting, as I like to finish what I start, and I can still enter The fussy and fancy challenge, which calls for an easel card. I love easel cards, and thought I'd make the twisted variety for this challenge. Here's my entry

Would you like a 'how to'?

First, take a square card and pose beside it.

Either make or choose a ready-made topper or embellishment for your card. Here's a pawmade one that we completed earlier.

Choose some co ordinating patterned paper. I chose pink as one of the challenges I missed was for a pink card.

Now, with your card in this position, you need to fold diagonally in half

Oh *blush* sorry, mis read my own instructions, fold the card in half, diagonally to form a triangle. No need for bear bending!

Cut a square of coloured card

To measure the same size as your card base.

Glue your folded triangle

and adhere the pink cardstock to this.

To produce this

Now, you need a sentiment. For mine, I used the Cricut, with the George cartridge.

My sentiment cut rather larger than I expected.

I also cut some flowers from the same cartridge.

To make my sentiment sticky, I used the Xyron machine, it's much easier than the Pritt stick for gluing words.

Voila

Now to assemble my card. I needed 3d sticky pads, so set to cutting some, scissors are so awkward for paws!

Pesky stickies!!!

For added interest to my card, I cut my patterned paper

To form a framed effect. To which I added my die cut flowers, with pretty gems for the middles.

Finally, I added my topper, and then adhered the sentiment to the bottom of the card with 3d stickies, as this forms a base for the opened card to rest on.

Here's my finished card, with yours truly. Which one is more gorgeous? Hmmm.

Wilbear says I need to show a side view.

Oh! Apparently he meant of the card!

The good thing about easel cards is, although they are such an interesting and different make to a conventional card, they still fit in a standard envelope when closed.

Now my challenge and tutorial is finished, I'm off to indulge in a spot of desk voyeurism. TTFN.

With love from the bears.

  7. Well Pooh! I see a great future for you presenting on Create and Craft! They have lots of bears on there who do very little - maybe they need someone to show them how to do it? Thanks to you all for popping by, hugs Buttons #82

  10. Oh bother! I love Pooh and while you only spied a little there is a shelf full of him and some friends as well. I think Pooh needs his Hunny pot now that was quite an undertaking for a bear of very little brain...Think.Think.Think!
