As well as making lovely new friends online, we've been lucky enough to win two lots of blog candy, one from Gill at Stamping Lemons, which was chock full of wonderful patterned papers and buttons etc. we had such fun with it making a tonne of cards, some for our own use and some to donate to charity.
Our second blog candy was from Ike at Ike's World, a mixed stash including yummy fibres, which we used to decorate our journal spine, and lots of other goodies, including some fab stamps, which so far have been used for card making and decorating journal pages. Ike sent her parcel from across the miles, so we steamed all the stamps from the parcel with the intention of using them in a future project.
We've also received ATCs as part of the Stamping Ground's 4th birthday swap, and as you'll have seen in a recent post, a wonderful handmade bears journal, from AJ, who won our blog candy.
These lovely gifts, along with the supportive and fun comments we receive on our posts gave me all the inspiration I needed for my friendship page, I'm even making it in a journal which was handmade for us by a friend! This is how I made it...
First I misted my pages with water
Then smooshed some Salty Ocean distress stain across the page, I thought that was fitting as one of the parcels came across the sea to us.
I spread the stain further with a baby wipe, then added some Dylusions spray through our arrow stencil, to depict friends in many places.
I used Stazon for my stamping
These are the stamps Ike sent, which have so far been used for cards only, but what better than to use them on the friendship page!
I stamped in the bears' own inimitable style.
And began to assemble my page. As well as using the rubber stamps from Ike, we utilised the postage stamps from her parcel too. I stamped our Travelling Travis Dylusions stamps, I thought the fact that she is dressed in suitcases was rather fitting for this project.
Ta da, here's the finished page.
Friendships blossom across the miles. For all our friends and followers, near and far. Xxx
With love from the bears
