Podgy's weekend bakes

Ooh la la, Podgy le chef here again, now, what can I bake today?
Let's have a look on the BBC (bears baking channel) website. Oooh, bread and butter pudding, perfect.

Ingredients list:
Slices of Bread & Butter
100g of Currants or Sultanas
50g of Sugar
900ml of Milk
3 Eggs
Grated Nutmeg
(Pre-heat the oven to gas 2, 150 centigrade)
Cut your bread nice and thick, and spread generously with lashings of lovely butter.

Layer the bread into a dish, add your fruit. I decided to use mixed fruit, and being a lazy kind of bear, I didn't weigh it out, choosing instead to just pour it on top of my buttered bread. That looks about right. Repeat the layers until your dish is stuffed full of bready goodness.

Whisk together the eggs and sugar, I used two eggs, and half the stated amount of sugar, as the recipe seemed a little over generous to me.

I also halved the milk, warm this in the microwave, (I'm far to lazy to bring it to the boil on the hob, and anyway, I might burn my poor paws whilst stirring. )

Stir the hot milk into the egg and sugar mix, whilst whisking like mad. Pour the milky mix over your bread, and leave to infuse for a few minutes. Sprinkle some sugar over the top.

Cook in the pre heated over for about an hour, or until set.

Oh my, i'm drooling a little bit!

Serve with lashings of hot custard. Mmmmm.

With love from the bears
