Dragons dream

Hello there from Cedric playing along with the great new challenge over at Dragons dream blog. The recipe this fortnight calls for us to use green, die cuts and cogs. Here is my tag.

I was a little annoyed, as I'd asked Wilbear, our resident pawtographer, to take some pictures of me as I crafted, well I know he's old, but I think he forgot to put the memory card in the camera, as when I went to upload the fruits of my extensive labour, there was nothing on the camera. I could have cried (in fact I did, but please don't tell the other bears or they'll tease me).

Anyway, not to be defeated, I grabbed the iphone, and a spare bear with his brains all there (good old Horace), and struck a few poses with my tag. As you see, I don't look terribly happy to have my tutorial unrecorded, but hey, these things happen. I'm sure I'll get over it, eventually, maybe.

Here's a close up of the required die cuts. Clouds cut from our Memory Box cloud die, onto old book paper, then distressed with Shabby Shutters ink.

The background to the tag is a previously made one, it was crumpled, scrumpled, misted and masked to within an inch of its life, then added to our ready to go box of tags and ATCs.

I stamped cogs from a Darkroom Door steampunk set, first in a light green stazon, then in darker green, directly onto the tag. My image is a stamp from a Paperartsy set, I stamped her onto green card, cut her out, then cut off her head and limbs. I replaced her head with a flower which had her face stamped directly onto, just to make her more quirky. I then manipulated (bearnipulated?) her arms, so that she was pointing directly to the cog elements of the stamp. In her other arm she holds a bottle of drink, stamped onto acetate, from another Paperartsy set. I think perhaps the poor woman has been driven to drink by my cutting her to bits!!!!

I did enjoy my crafternoon, even if Wilbear's forgetfulness resulted in no tutorial for you all! Sigh.

Oh, before you go, if you like challenges, maybe you would like to enter our monthly just for fun literary challenge? You don't have to be a bibliophile to join in, take a peek hereto find out more. We'd love for you all to join in, and we don't have an extensive list of rules, it's all about fun.

With love from the bears.

  1. Wow... fantastic, Cedric - this is one of my all-time bear favourites! Personally I think Wilbear was probably deliberately sabotaging your tutorial because he could see you were headed to this amazing tag, and he was jealous! Your quirky sunflower lady is simply wonderful...
I do have plans to join in the challenge, but we all know how the best laid plans of mice and bears gang oft agley...
