It's All Perspective

Hola, it's me, Podgy again, with my entry for this fortnight's Alpha Challenge at The Craft Barn. This fortnight's letter is P.

We're altering a French/English dictionary, and we seem to have inadvertently chosen the theme of words which are the same in both languages. I did think of being subversive and choosing a word that didn't translate, but I couldn't bear (bear -ha! Excuse the pun) the wrath of Wilbear if I ruined the dictionary.

Anyway, I meant to take photos as I crafted, but I was busy wandering to and fro the mirror to admire my best birthday present onesie, and completely forgot to record my progress. Hey ho, here is the finished 'bearster'piece.

Would you like a close up?

Oh! You want a close up of the altered pages.

Although I'm sure you really meant you'd like a close up of me, but Wilbear insists I show the completed pages! Pah!

My chosen word is Perspective. I stamped our new Stampers anonymous face stamp directly onto the dictionary, then coloured with Spectrum Noir pens. I smudged Concord distress ink over the page with a foam square, leaving the chosen word clear. I then used our new chicken wire mask to add Dylusions white mist over the page, just for added interest.

I added journalling 'It's not what you see but how you see it' as a definition of my word. I then found a stamp that had the words 'it's all perspective' and stamped that into the page with purple archival ink. What a serendipitous find that was.

Finally, I added a lace effect stamp to the right hand page and some eyes, stamped onto tissue paper then Mod Podgied onto the dictionary. I'm not always too good at this technique, sometimes remnants of the tissue paper are left behind, other times it all dissolves. I have no idea why it works that way.

I had great fun crafting my page in my comfy onesie, you should try it, so much better than regular clothes, and you can go right back to sleep once you've finished your creation, no need to change into pyjamas after!

If you like challenges, maybe you'd enjoy our just for fun March challenge, which is based on the book A Thousand Splendid Suns. click here

Also I'm having a bit of a birthday /bloggerversary giveaway, look here for more details.

  7. Fab pages, and like Bonnie I'm impressed you kept your onesie so pristine... or maybe you have a crafty apron? Amazing Gothic make-up on the stamped face - she looks fantastic, and it's a brilliant quote for the word perspective.
